I started growing garlic at the farm in 1997. The sand loam soil was great for growing crops of garlic but I just couldn't make a profit. Chinese garlic was being dumped illegally on the market. super store sold cheap garlic for 79c/lb and I was paying 3 dollars/lb for gourmet garlic seed stock. Pity
